National History
Delta Zeta was founded on October 24, 1902 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. With help from the Miami University president, Dr. Guy Potter Benton, our six founders were able to open the sorority, just shortly after women could be fully admitted to the university. Dr. Benton was named the Grand Patron of Delta Zeta. Because of our six brave founders Alfa Lloyd, Anne Simmons, Anna Keen, Mary Jane Collins, Maybelle Minton, and Julia Bishop, Delta Zeta has now grown to 165 chapters nationwide with over 180,000 members.
Local History
The Beta Tau chapter of Delta Zeta was founded in September 1941 at Nebraska Wesleyan University. We build our chapter on the foundation of scholarship, service, standards, self, social, and sisterhood.

Delta Zeta Creed
To the world,
I promise temperance and insight and courage,
To crusade for justice,
To seek the truth and defend it always;
To those whom my life may touch in slight measure,
May I give graciously
Of what is mine.
To my friends,
Understanding and appreciation;
To those closer ones,
Love that is ever steadfast;
To my mind, Growth;
To myself, Faith;
That I may walk truly in the light of the flame
